Calibration.
• Open the 400mV solution sachet and place in suitable small container so the
solution is deep enough to cover the probe tip by at least 1 inch.
• Place the connected probe into solution and allow it to settle for a few minutes.
• Take reading. This reading is your offset reference reading. The offset reading is
how much the probe is offset by, so for example if you have a reading of 425mV in
400mV solution you have an offset of 25mV which must be remembered when
reading your controllers display and taken into account. This is the correct method
for working out the true calibration of mV controllers and meters.
• Once you have taken your offset reading, after 90 minutes the reference solution
will no longer be accurate, but do not dispose of. Place in a sealed container and
use this solution for dip cleaning the probe once every two weeks.
• To clean the probe, leave the tip with the controller switched off in the solution for
30mins then rinse under running water and replace in the tank. The controller will
take up to 24 hours to settle back down.
• Retest the offset of the probe roughly once a month in new reference solution.
• If the Offset reading is greater than 30Mv the probe will need replacing.
